Healing shaped
by lived experience.

Dr. Wells grew up straddling two cultures, navigating the push and pull of identity, expectation, and belonging. That early experience of tension — and the long journey toward integration — is what drew her to psychology.

After completing her doctoral training at USC and a clinical fellowship at Cedars-Sinai, she spent five years working in community mental health before opening her private practice in 2018.

She specializes in anxiety, trauma, and relational patterns — and brings both clinical rigor and genuine warmth to every therapeutic relationship.

Out-of-network
coverage.

Dr. Wells is an out-of-network provider. Many PPO insurance plans reimburse 50–80% of session fees. You pay upfront, and we provide a superbill for reimbursement.

A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available for clients who demonstrate financial need. Please inquire during your consultation.

Ready to take the
first step

Your healing journey is waiting. Let's begin with a simple conversation.

Everything you
want to know.

Starting therapy is a brave step. Here are answers to the questions we hear most — so you can begin with confidence.

Before you begin

How do I know if therapy is right for me? +
Therapy can benefit anyone who wants to understand themselves better, navigate a difficult period, or build more fulfilling relationships. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. If you've been thinking about it, that's usually a good enough reason to start.
What's the difference between therapy and coaching? +
Therapy is a licensed clinical service focused on mental health diagnoses, emotional healing, and psychological wellbeing. Coaching is typically goal-oriented and forward-focused, without clinical components. Dr. Wells provides licensed therapy — which means she can work with diagnosis, deeper emotional patterns, and trauma in ways coaches cannot.
How long does therapy typically last? +
It varies widely. Some clients benefit from 8–12 focused sessions; others find ongoing support helpful for years. Together, we'll discuss your goals and check in regularly about your progress and whether our work is still serving you.
Do you offer telehealth? +
Yes — all services are available via secure telehealth to clients located anywhere in California. In-person sessions are available at the West Hollywood office by appointment.

The details

Do you accept insurance? +
Dr. Wells is an out-of-network provider. She does not bill insurance directly, but provides monthly superbills you can submit to your PPO insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients receive 50–80% back. Please verify your out-of-network benefits before starting.
What is your cancellation policy? +
A 48-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged the full session fee. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full. We understand emergencies happen — please communicate as early as possible and we'll work with you.
Is everything I share confidential? +
Yes. Everything shared in therapy is protected by strict confidentiality laws and the therapist-client privilege. There are narrow legal exceptions (imminent risk of harm, mandatory reporting for child abuse) — these are explained fully in your intake paperwork.
Can I bring a support person to sessions? +
In some cases, yes — particularly for clients with anxiety around attending alone, or in the context of family or couples work. This is something to discuss during the free consultation.

What a first session
feels like.

Warm, Not Clinical

The first session isn't an interrogation — it's a conversation. You set the pace. Dr. Wells will never push you faster than you're ready to go.

You Lead

You'll be invited to share what brings you in — only what feels comfortable. There's no script, no checklist. Just a real conversation.

A Clear Path

By the end, you'll have a sense of what working together could look like — and whether you want to continue. Completely your choice.

"I know how much courage it takes to reach out. You've already done the hardest part."

There's no perfect time to start therapy. Whatever is bringing you here — fear, pain, confusion, or simply a quiet sense that something needs to shift — it matters. I'm here to help you make sense of it.

More answers.

What's EMDR and how does it work? +
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy for trauma. It uses bilateral stimulation (often eye movements) to help the brain reprocess distressing memories — reducing their emotional charge while keeping the factual memory intact. It works, and the research behind it is robust.
Can I do therapy if I'm also on medication? +
Absolutely. Therapy and medication often work best in combination. Dr. Wells regularly collaborates with psychiatrists and prescribers to ensure coordinated care. She does not prescribe medication herself but can provide referrals.
What if I've had bad experiences with therapy before? +
That experience is valid and worth talking about. Therapeutic fit matters enormously. A bad previous experience doesn't mean therapy doesn't work — it may mean the approach or therapist wasn't the right match. We'll take things at your pace, and you'll always have full agency over the process.
